Controversies Raftaar vs Honey Singh
When Raftaar asserted in 2014 that he was not given credit for writing and composing the songs, Banjarey, the movie’s title track, and Dhup Chik, he stirred up controversy. According to what Honey Singh said in an interview, he wrote the songs Banjarey and Fugly. Rejecting Honey’s claims, he said in an interview,
These two songs were written and composed by Yo-Yo and me. Why I am not receiving credit for the other one is beyond me.” Raftaar CAA Against

At a concert in 2019, he voiced his opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens. He declared during the concert that no one would leave the nation. During his speech at the concert, he mistreated the audience on stage. Later, he apologized for the abuse on Twitter, saying,

“Before everyone jumping in and arguing over whether or not they agree with me. I’m sorry for mistreating you on stage. That was a bad thing for me to do. Izzat karne me farq hai gaali dena aur ladki ki gaali dena. Galat tab bhi aapko. “Uske liye maafi.”

Copying BTS Army music video

Many BTS fans criticized Raftaar in 2022 for the song Mantoiyat music video’s resemblance to Kim Namjoon’s (RM) Do You. Using Twitter, Raftaar stated,

“Fans of BTS have every right to be upset, and I completely understand why. In our line of work, we are employed to complete our assigned tasks. I think the video looks similar. I apologize deeply, but I ask that you respect my music and the message it conveys.”
